Learn how to plan scaffolding around building corners, including platform continuity, clearance, ties, stability, worker access and practical constructability.

A scaffold elevation can look straightforward until something has to pass through it. A door needs to remain usable. A vehicle route has to stay open. Equipm...

Learn how to plan scaffold ties around windows, roller shutters, glazed façades, bay windows and other difficult openings, with practical checks for tie locations, supporting structure and anchorage.

Learn how scaffold loads are transferred across openings, what designers should check, and why bridging members, supporting standards, bracing and site layout must be considered together.

Learn how scaffold cantilevers work, when they are used, and why brackets, anchors, load paths, geometry and supporting structures must be checked together.

Learn how balconies and building projections affect scaffold layout, working distance, ties, elevations and constructability, with practical planning checks based on real scaffold design experience.

Learn how to plan scaffold stair tower locations, landings, access routes, ground conditions and connections to the main scaffold before fixing the layout.

Small scaffold drawing details can create major site problems. Learn what to check in building geometry, ground levels, access, obstructions and scaffold-to-site interfaces.

Learn why mesh, sheeting and other scaffold enclosures change wind loading, tie forces and design conditions—and what designers should verify.

Learn how scaffold tie loads develop and transfer through ties, fixings and into the building, including the effects of wind, sheeting and tie location.
